Macintyre Ag Alliance Coordinator

This position is working from home and is highly flexible, and could support two staff in a shared position.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Permanent part-time.
Hourly rate commensurate with experience.
Working from home.
Working hours vary between 15-25 hours per week with some busier periods. The working hours of this position will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Reports to MAA President and Executive Committee.
The Coordinator will be provided with a laptop and two computer screens, printer, phone and work vehicle.
MAA is an equal opportunity employer with employment offered on a contract basis under the Committee’s standard employment agreement or as negotiated.
Some work during weekends or at night may be required.
Jobs will include but are not limited to:
• Project and event management
• Working closely with the MAA Committee, including organising and attending meetings, minute-taking and email and phone communications on a regular basis
• Communicating with stakeholders, including landholders, community groups, local government, state government, NGOs, media outlets, funding bodies, consultants and contractors
• Budgeting and finance (working independently and with the MAA Treasurer and bookkeeper)
• Managing the Member database
• Writing, compiling and distributing member communications
• Managing website and social media platforms
• Grant applications
• General administration, including office filing and archiving
• Working with the Project Officer to meet deadlines and funding requirements.
ABOUT YOU:
• A qualification in a rural or natural resource management discipline is advantageous but not essential.
• An interest or experience in communications/marketing is advantageous, and customer service and project management experience desired.
• Current driver’s licence is essential.
• Applicants should be enthusiastic and self-motivated and able to carry out occasional duties in a rural environment.
ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA/SKILLS:
1: Demonstrated knowledge or experience in agricultural and production systems and natural resource management issues of southern inland Queensland and northern NSW.
2: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop constructive relationships with stakeholders, and to write funding submissions and reports.
3: Demonstrated initiative and ability to work both in a team and under minimum supervision in a reliable and highly professional manner, and a capacity to work to deadlines.
4: Project management, marketing, and administrative skills highly desired.
