FIELD DAY – Thursday 24 March, 9am – 4pm , “Rexton”
Day two of the Agribusiness Summit will centre around a carbon farming and landscape rehydration field day at Tom and Antoinette Archer’s property “Rexton”, a 4800ha rotational grazing property east of Goondiwindi.
Regenerative agriculture consultant Sam Skeat from the Mulloon Institution will demonstrate rehydration designs on “Rexton” to rebuild degraded areas into productive landscapes.
David McLean, Chairman of RCS, will share relevant RCS principles and their interrelationship with carbon farming with regard to building drought resilience and profitability.
Host Tom Archer will share his experiences building a carbon project on “Rexton”. Tom and Antoinette and their boys Will, Jimmy and Angus background steers and heifers for both the export and domestic markets, and focus on regeneration of the soils and pasture to underpin a long-term profitable livestock business
