Loss to Hope, helping Lachlan’s dream live on

Agricultural visionaries Philip and Adele Hughes, with assistance from professionals, have now mentored and educated 13 individuals through the Lachlan Hughes Foundation since 2019. At September’s field day Philip talked about their vision and the opportunities for people to participate in the foundation.

Lachlan Lucas Hughes was tragically lost in an on-farm accident on 31st October 2018. In the wake of this accident the Hughes family chose to set-up a foundation to foster education and leadership in the regen ag community, one of Lachlan’s great passions.

The Lachlan Hughes Foundation aims to develop and grow leaders in the regenerative agricultural field across Australia. The foundation is project focussed and is open to anyone who has land, or access to land.

Toni Rissmann, a Goondiwindi local and Lachlan Hughes Foundation participant, also presented at the Grazing Field Day at Tarrawonga in September.

One of the big take aways from Toni’s presentation was to understand your values and ensure that your business decisions line up with your core values. If they don’t line up, then you are less likely to finish and enjoy the outcome.

Applications for the 2024 program open on the 3rd of November 2023. For further information head to https://lachlanhughesfoundation.org.au/apply/
